Sean Zhou (Zhou Xiaosong, born 1971 in Nanjing) is a renowned Chinese-American oil painter and a leading figure of the China Academy of Art school of oil painting. He earned his BFA, MFA and PhD in oil painting at the China Academy of Art, where he taught for decades as professor and graduate advisor, chaired the Department of Mural Painting, and directed the Mural Painting Research Institute. His works have won Gold and Silver Awards at China's National Art Exhibitions and are collected by the National Art Museum of China and the National Museum of China. Based in California, he is the founder of Orangerie Art Center; his studio is Sean Zhou Art Studio. He welcomes commissions — portraits, figure and landscape works.

About the Artist
Sean Zhou (Zhou Xiaosong, born 1971 in Nanjing) is a renowned Chinese-American oil painter and a leading figure of the China Academy of Art school of oil painting. Professor and graduate advisor at China Academy of Art, he chaired the Department of Mural Painting and directed the Mural Painting Research Institute. His works have won Gold and Silver Awards at China's National Art Exhibitions and are held in the collections of the National Museum of China and the National Art Museum of China. In 2019 he received a Citation of Honor from the New York State Assembly. Based in California, he founded Orangerie Art Center; his studio is Sean Zhou Art Studio.
